Congratulations, Linda! and thanks!

I'll be 38 on 8/27! Go Virgo! :)

Have you looked into the Body for Life program? My wife used that in conjunction with a major lifting and exercise lifestyle overhaul. She lost 70 lbs and looks/feels awesome. She is a great example of what clean eating, slow carbs+protein, and lifting weights can do for the female body.

What a difference!

You might want to check out this forum:

The ladies over there are fun and lively. It's a great place for support and information. Very active group over there.

If you go, tell 'em "DH of Lydia227" sent you! :)

I weigh 229 pounds, am a female, and am 5'9". My motivation? Turning 40 this August! My 2 kids often remind me how 'fat' I am also, I not only need to lose weight for myself, but my kids too. (I actually encourage them to tell me how good I don't look, it keeps the chips / ice cream at bay)....

6 weeks ago, I weighed in at 244. I hired a personal trainer and started eating lean cuisine as one meal and cereal every a.m. for breakfast. If I work out in the a.m., I also have a slim fast right after exercising. Dinner is up for grabs, as long as it's before 6pm. Diet soda and water have replaced my cola's and juices.

This trainer has shown me the importance of using every muscle (most I never used before) and to exhaust these muscles every other day. I think she said to use the smaller muscles first, then end with the larger muscle groups. She's expensive, but definately a motivator that I need!!!

Anyway, I've been under the weather this weekend, but things have been going well.

I'm glad to have found this website. Good luck to you!

Sorry, I corrected the post and included the link I originally wanted to list (see above). Tim's post is a variation on Dean's diet.

>posted this interview with ultramarathoner Dean Karnazes

That isn't an interview. In fact, it's barely a passing reference to Karnazes.

Is there an interview elsewhere?

Intermittent fasting is one thing, but have you heard Kimmer say that fasting INDEFINITELY is OK so long as there is any fat at all left on your body? :shudder:

Thanks for helping to spread the word!
