Why a Weekly Weigh In

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

Weighing in daily is one of the biggest psychological traps a dieter can make, at least it is for me. That's why I only weigh in once a week.

If you're weighing in daily, you have probably face anxiety every once in awhile (if not every time). No doubt you have experienced the let down of getting on the scale and seeing the same old number that got you angry enough to do something in the first place.

So much can happen during the course of the day. You might drink more water than usual. You might have an extra large salad (or two). And then, maybe your body is just taking a break. Who really knows? Certainly, you can drive yourself crazy thinking about it which is a fast track to stress and the inevitable fall off the wagon.

Weighing in once a week takes that daily worry out of my life. It lets me focus on the primary objective, which is to eat right and not succumb to stress bingeing.
